No Strings Attached

I want my puppets and costumes to look close to if not exactly like the original image if I am doing a recreation. If I can’t find the exact match, I work through all the things that look close or could be slightly altered to look like what I want to.

For my most recent crazy idea, I lucked out for one fabric but the others are very hard (impossible) to find now. Part of the problem is that fabric stores stock one season ahead. So if in the middle of the winter I am looking for what is considered a fall fabric then I am not going to find it. I am a bit of a fabric hoarder especially after the super sale on the Halloween fabrics or when the fabrics that I use go onto super clearance sale. The Halloween fabrics are trickling in now so I have an idea of what is available. Which is good for one doll but does me little good when it comes to Captain Jack and his coat. I have another fabric if needed but it would be nice to find the color and texture.

I do have to go to the fabric store because I ran out of foam. I thought I had another roll of it but apparently not. I am praying that the store has what I need so I don’t have to go to the much further away. I will also check and see if they have something closer to what I need for Captain Jack. I have Sarah Jane almost squared away. Doctor 9 and 10 need their arms put back on and 9 needs a new shirt/jumper/sweater and then they are done. I have most of the fabric for 11 but I need to get buttons. The Master is in my head but I really need to get some fabric for his jacket and gloves. After that we are looking at some goblins and the Scary Godmother puppets.

The weather looks very iffy for Caroline’s last day at camp. I would hate for her to miss it but if it starts to rain that would be that.

I am grateful for fabulous fabric finds.
