Let’s Be Careful out there

To everyone with adverse weather right now, I hope that you are all right. Especially those people currently effected by the floods and the other forms of inclement weather that seems to be pounding the planet. And to everyone dealing with the aftermath, I hope that everything works out in your favor
Here we are OK. We have the windows open to catch the breeze before the temperature increases to the hot level. I learned that trick from living in the south. My parent’s house is build for southern summers with walls that hold the cool and lots of windows to let the breeze through. We even had an attic fan to pull the cool air or any air across our bodies at night so we could sleep during the summer.
I think that this weekend is going to be a quiet one. We are not going any where off the Island. I think for Father’s Day Peter would be happy with his hammock set up and a good book. We did get him a Father’s Day gift. It’s nice to fuss over him a little. He takes such good care of us.
Then Monday I go under the knife again for the tooth. I have a feeling a bunch of the next week is going to be recovery. I love gargling with salt water. *sigh*
Caroline put her tooth under her pillow in a box and was rewarded with 4 shiny quarters which she is carrying around with her today. She has money and is very happy about it because then she can buy stuff if she saves up enough.
So today I am redoing 10’s jacket since I found THE FABRIC that matches the coat that he wore in his first season. I’ll take pictures after I am done. Yes, it would work for a real Ten outfit but I only found 1 yard of it. And no like an idiot I did not write down the fabric name or type. I know bad costumer no biscuit for you.
I am grateful for lovely fabric finds. Now does anyone know where I can get the fabric for Barbossa’s coat?
Why is eyelash fabric available in every shade this year except CORAL?
It looks to me like a woven gray w/ black check, reminding me sadly of a vacuum cleaner bag, or a costly pocketbook. Haven’t seen anything like it at Joann’s, which is the only fabric store left in these parts. They did open a new home-dec fabric store in town, after the old one folded, but I haven’t had time to get there. I’ll keep an eye out. If it’s like all those LOTR costumes, it’s silk, and we’ll never see that for sale anywhere.
This is the website I’ve been using for the costumes – it’s got great pix. They didn’t look that complicated in the film. Here, though, I can see the incredible thought behind it, and the artistry. Sew exciting!

Only 4 quarters? Apparently the tooth fairy doesn’t believe in inflation. 😀
When you multiply those 4 quarters with all the teeth that fall out, I think the tooth fairy is using good fiscal prudence. Of course, my daughter gets $1.00 too.
