The Tooth Hurts

I have to have the surgery again. It is not healing the way it should. So the oral surgeon has to do what he did before again. It is scheduled for Monday. Think good thoughts for me here. At least this time I know what I am getting myself in for.
Weather is much improved. The humidity doesn’t feel as sticky as it did this past weekend. We’re going to be in the 80s but that feels a lot better than the 90s right now.
There is an article that is in the New York Times online edition today about shared care of children by both parents. I read the article and found parts of it very redundant but there were some interesting statistics in there as well. The author also touches on the gay parent issue but I think it is not relevant really to the rest of the article as much as the author tries to make it so.
Peter and I very much share care of the children. It is a balance that we have worked out for ourselves. There are things I like to do that he really would prefer not to and things he likes to do that I would rather not. There are time that one of us takes the lion’s share of the job since the other has a project that need to be done without interruption. It works for us and works well. I know how we have things set up really doesn’t work for most families because of how the work force is structured.
Speaking of teeth, Caroline just came down and was rather bewildered because in her hand she had one of her teeth. She has lost her first baby tooth. We’re going to have her checked out by our dentist because it seems a little early but the baby tooth is whole and the socket looks normal. My little girl is growing up. She put the tooth in a little box and is looking forward to the tooth fairy bring her some money for the tooth.
I am grateful that we have the structure we have so we can both be here for Caroline.
Ouch. My sympathies over your teeth. What a bummer.
Good luck for Monday and the periodontist. Hopefully that will be all you need done.
Yikes, so sorry to hear this, Kath! Best of luck Monday, hope that’s the end of this particular nightmare.
