Hiding from the Heat

Posted By on June 10, 2008

I know it is June and it is suppose to be summer and all the rest but there is hot and there is HOT. Right now we are in the HOT mode. So I am doing all those things I learned while living in the south for so many years to keep cool and also get things done. Ice tea tastes better than it does on a cool day too.

Many of the projects I have lined up are indoor anyway. I have some costumes to make. If I ever hear back from the Farpoint ArtShow, I might have some dolls and puppets to create. That gives me about a month to do this. But first I have a Doctor to finish and send off like a message in a bottle.

I have never liked hot. I am honestly a polar bear. I love the cold. Heat and I don’t work out very well. And when we hit absurd heat, I swear parts of my brain just shut down in protest.

I need to go into the city at some point (probably next Wednesday) to look for one more fabric that I need. But I can get at least one costume and most of a second done. And I need to make a pair of pants to complete another costume. I really should make a list.

I am grateful for schools that pay attention to their students rather than just pushing them through.

    LOL

I’m the exact opposite. We haven’t really even hit Winter yet (not o/n temps below 0 degrees C), and already I have the winter woollies out. You should see me at field hockey with Brooke. She’s running around in her skimpy hockey uniform, and I’m on the sideline wearing a heavy parker, thick gloves, scarf and beanie. I’m dreading July and August when it will get really cold and windy.
