A few thoughts while packing

Posted By on May 27, 2008

As I start to pack us up for the trip home today, I have been reflecting on the last couple of days. They have been very good ones. Peter got to go out and play with the big kids and he did right well for himself. I got to watch him play with the big kids and to play some slots and came out ahead by the end of the day or rather very early this morning.

Albuquerque is a very beautiful city. I love the art scattered through out it. The people have been very friendly and helpful. There are probably more of them out there in the plaza today then there has been in the last three but then it was a holiday weekend. We had some great food and some wonderful company to have the food with.

Peter’s team-mates were from all over. Some are noted bowling professionals like Mike Aulby and Lucy Sandelin and others have a great passion for the sport and a real love of the game that they help promote like the Vint family. It was a great group of people to hang with.

We are probably going to Sandia Peak today before heading home. I am in awe of the scenery around me. The contrast of the mountains to the desert landscape is amazing. The weather had been clear and comfortable the whole weekend.

As much as I have enjoyed my stay here, I am looking forward to going home and seeing the girls. I can’t tell you the number of times that I saw something and thought well Caroline would love this or Ariel would get a big kick out of that.

I am grateful for the time we have had here.

  1. Another Steve says:

You go to a place as beautiful as NM to scope out things to show your offspring.

I have been there and I hope to take at least one of my maturing children sometime. It will be fun. They can watch road runners darting on the sand between bushes. The mountains in the background make the scene complete.

    Take the kids sometime soon.
