RTBTCKI ( The “I got the Laundry Downstairs” Edition)

And the sad thing is that I made my coffee over an hour ago but things have just interfered with my coffee drinking. So I finally am sitting down with my laptop and a strong cup of coffee.

I read an article this morning in the NYT online about Facebook and the problem of sexual predators on the site. Now what I find interesting is that according to the article that the TOS states that company strictly prohibits depictions of nudity on the site and groups that encourage pornography and online sexual activity. When it started it was offered as an alternative to MySpace and touted itself as a safe space for teens and college aged students to go without having to worry about sexual predators and the like. That was their major selling point to parents to allow their kids on their service. Not so much anymore. The article does point out that in some states people who are convicted of a sex crime are suppose to register all e-mail addresses with the state. Considering how easy it is to get an e-mail address, I think that is close to impossible. I don’t think monitoring their computers is going to do any good because there are too many places they can go and use a computer that is not attached to them. I really think that this one of those cases that the parents need to educate their kids and keep an eye on what they are doing online. I really don’t think the government can put this genie back in the bottle no matter how hard they try.

All I really got done yesterday was the food shopping done because we had next to nothing for perishables in the house. So the larder is now restocked. I also got the laundry downstairs to the washing machine. I may do it today or wait until Peter gets home and do it all then.

Monday is a busy day for us. Caroline has her swim lesson. Ariel is teaching bowling, meets up with a friend, and has a bowling league today. I have a few things I want/need to do to get the dolls started.

Unlike costuming where I tend to keep what we are doing close to the vest, I can talk about what I am making for DragonCon. Currently the list is
3 Fairy Grandmothers
4 Pixies (Fire, Air, Earth, Water)
1 Troll
2 Goblins
2 Phluzzies
1 Boy Wizard
1 Boy Wizard’s best friend
1 Head Master Puppet
1 Potions Teacher Puppet
And I have…. well…. none of it really done. Should be an exciting month indeed. I am now figuring how to attack all that I want to do. I have it my head now I need to bring it into our world.

Pictures of the trip are something else I want to get up today if I can. I have a lot of them and am having fun sorting out the good ones. I need to find my photo disk from Disney to add to the mix. I think I got a pretty good record and actually might go ahead and make a scrapbook for Caroline to look through.

I also want to pick up the house so it will look as nice for Peter as it did for us when we came home.

I am grateful for getting stuff done even in small increments.
