I’m a Google Head

Posted By on May 22, 2007

There is a Laurie Berkner song called I’m a Doodle Head with her usual catchy lyrics and tunes. Caroline loves that song and bounces around the living room to it. But it can be an ear worm and get stuck in your brain and play over and over again. This morning I woke up singing my own version “I’m a Google Head”

When I originally started doing web searches it was with AOL since I was on AOL. Then someone introduced me to Yahoo and it became my go to for web searching. The next ones that I used were Dog Pile and Ask Jeeves. Then my father told me about Google which I introduced most of Del Rey to along with numerous other Random House employees. I became a Googler.

Since then other search engines have been created or older ones revised to new formats and using new ways of searching. Google has been keeping up by revising itself. Recently there have been a slew of commercials and billboard ads for Ask.com and their new algorithm. So I did my semi-annual searches with other search engines to see if anyone has become more user friendly than Google. I have a set of search terms I use. Some are very general and some rather obscure. I still haven’t found anything that beats Google for ease or speed. So for now I remain a Google Head.

I am grateful for really good search engines.
