TIATF (The Rather Windy Edition)

Posted By on May 15, 2007

Beautiful day but very windy. The sun is shining. The trees have their leaves again. It smells nice outside. Renewed and Refreshed.

I am thankful for improving health. Sometimes I need to remind myself that I am getting back to normal or what passes for normal for me.

I am thankful for Caroline’s imagination and ability to amuse herself. She loves to play with me but she can also play on her own. This morning is all about the dragons who are having a flying adventure from landing space to landing space in the living room. They are playing a game of sky tag with the big dragons helping the little dragons.

I am thankful for grocery stores that do try to get their produce from local farmers. Yeah it is only a small thing on the global scale but at this point I think everything helps.

I am thankful it is baseball season again. We have both the big leagues and the smaller leagues (like the Atlantic League) to enjoy. I love going to Long Island Ducks games. Can you believe that 9th inning in the Cubs/Mets game? The pitcher walked the winning run in. How many times do you see that?

I am thankful that my cloth store is remaining open. I have heard from so many costumers that the various cloth stores that they have used for years are closing. Mine is one of the few on the South Shore and there are a lot of quilters in the area along with a couple of dressmakers who make very large special orders that help the bottom line. I want to be able to look and feel my fabric rather than guessing online as to what I am seeing.

I am thankful for my husband who is my rock and my support. Peter is always there for me. He is also there to pick up the slack if I am not in shape to take care of things. He encourages me to be the best me I can be. We have a lot of fun just talking about stuff. We are both such fan geeks. Last night after he saw ‘Heroes’, we spent some time talking about what we hadn’t expected from the episode and what we thought might happen in the last episode. Just one of those random conversations that we have all the time and I love them.

I am grateful to Peter for so many things.
