The Lusty Month of May

Posted By on May 1, 2007

First to my various readers who celebrate various holidays on this day, I hope this day finds you well and you have a fine one.

I know I am hunting up my copy of Camelot today to listen to Julie Andrews sing The Lusty Month of May.

For some this is the beginning of summer. For others summer begins with Memorial Day and half day Fridays at work and concludes with Labor Day.

It is going to be a little cooler today which is too bad because yesterday afternoon was gorgeous. Caroline and I went out on our back porch and played with her unicorns for a while. I was hoping to do some chalk drawing later today with her.

Caroline has a new phobia about bugs that we need to work on. She sees an ant crawling along outside and she freaks. We are working to convince her that the bug is not going to hurt her and she is much bigger than the bug. Not much luck so far but I think she will work this out in her head.

I am grateful for nice weather.

Good luck! I’ve tried for 12 years, and still the fastest way to make Marina scream is tell her, There’s a bug! Allie, however was the one who had to teach Mom it’s okay to walk around with a half-dozen daddy-longlegs crawling on you. I can now handle Daddy-Longlegs, but I draw the line at tarantulas.

I’m smiling, because here on the other side of the Equator, our overnight temperatures are starting to dip into the single figures (Celcius). It won’t be long before the dew on the car will be frost.

Megan (enjoying the last warm days of Autumn, before the cold really sets in).
