Creative Inspiration

Posted By on March 7, 2007

First I have to say that AT&T—>Cingular—->AT&T which I have had since 2000 has great customer service especially if you play by their rules. Ariel’s cell phone was apparently found by someone who ran up in less than 4 hours over $150 worth of data download charges. Since I suspended the phone with in a certain period of time and can prove that the phone was no longer in her possession when the data was downloaded, they will refund the charges on the phone. Now I have to decide if she is getting another phone to replace this one. Either way any extra charges are coming out of her paycheck.

It has been snowing all morning with fluffy dry snow. The roads are clear and it is rather pretty outside right now.

Today’s topic is People who inspire me to be creative.

This is a short list off the top of my head which I know could be longer and is in no particular order.

There are the obvious like Peter who inspires me every day to become a better artist and my family who cheers on my efforts.

Jim Henson. His work still inspires and uplifts me.

The Frouds (all three of them) Wendy is probably my favorite doll maker.

Susie Oroyan (who by all accounts is doing better) Her books showed me the possibilities for doll making

David Currell whose books on puppetry has helped me a lot over the years. Most of them are out of print but I have made it a point to get copies of them.

Dave McKean cause he makes me take another look at what is art and how it can be constructed.

Neil Gaiman cause he keeps me honest about my art. (I know I still own him about 4 of the endless a project I plan to get done before I die)

My various doll making groups. Their boundless creativity and support make me want to create more art

My various puppetry groups. They sometimes give me the kick in the rear I need to get something complete.

People who read this blog and also the artists whose blogs I read which are too numerous to mention here (but you know who you are *grin*).

I’ll probably think of about 20 other people when I close this out but I do have things to do today.

I am grateful to all the people who inspire me.
