National Crafts Month

Posted By on March 4, 2007

Somebody declared March to be National Crafts Month and the craft stores have taken to it whole hearty and ran with the idea. There are sales and special deals on craft items at most of the major chain craft and fabric stores along with on the local level various free classes and demos of various types of crafts.

Someone on a list that I belong to declared that she was going to do a piece of art a day for the month of March and encouraged the rest of us to join her in this challenge. Since I have a number of things that I need to have done by St. Patrick’s Day, I took up the challenge. The first 3 days have been stuff that Caroline and I have done together with stickers and markers and the like. Today I want to start on some more complicated stuff but I am going to make time and space so Caroline can continue to work on her various art projects. I know she loves having space on my work table so she can work on her stuff right next to me.

Current list of what I want to get done for LunaCon starting with the MUST GET DONE and working to the “it would be neat if I could get this done in two weeks”

1) Super Secret Project for LunaCon that some of you know what I am talking about. I also have to pack up all my Harry Potter costume stuff for that convention

2) The next part of my Round Robin Doll project. I have the pieces, I just need to put it together.

3) Phluzzies-My extras are down to two and I think I have sold one of those so new colors and new fun with that. I want to have 5 for LunaCon.

4) New Doll/Stuffed Animal idea that has been rolling around in my head.

5) My Magritte Doll (due April 1st)

6) ATD (That would be Artist Trading Dolls) which is a new idea of doing with Paper Dolls what a number of us had been doing with Cards.

7) Eyeballs for I-Con (which can be done the week after Luna Con)

I am debating about putting the Doctors up for sale at Luna. I am really of two minds which will probably become one once I get closer to the event.

Then there are the other projects I want to do. Maybe I’ll declare it a craft year….

I am grateful for the interest that Caroline has in creating things.
