One of those tests

Today I am going to take a test that I don’t have to study for but I really hope I pass. I am getting a mammogram. This will be my first one. I know I am a little late in getting started but the last time I would have scheduled one I was breastfeeding Caroline so I couldn’t. Then I did put it off for various reasons but no more. Today I will experience the fun that is a mammogram. It is something that I encourage all women over the age of 40 to do. Early detection is a good thing and the courses of treatment are much better than they were even 5 years ago. I know some survivors of breast cancer. Few of them read this very web log. One inspired me to bite the bullet and get this done. Thanks.
One of the very cool things that Peter got me at the San Diego Comic Con is a new book “The Art of Wendy Froud” published by Imaginosis (who also published the Brian Froud’s secret sketchbook). ISBN is 0977995607. It is a wonderful overview of her doll work. And this fall there is going to be a DVD of her doll-making workshop for those of you who want to know how she makes those lovely dolls. Next spring she will probably be teaching her doll-making class in New York again.
I am grateful I am finally getting this procedure done.
Speaking of Froud, did you ever get that “Chelsea Morning” book I sent c/o Peter?
And on a different note … having just lost a colleague and friend to breast cancer last week, I hope even more than usual that the test went well. Best wishes.
